“The Best Place We've Ever Stayed At”
March 25, 2013 Jonesborough, Tennessee

OMG, what an awesome B&B!! We stayed here to visit Dollywood for its season grand opening. It couldn't have been easier to get to Dollywood from Berry Springs. It's literally a 5-minute drive on the back road to the park from this B&B, and about 5 miles to downtown Pigeon Forge. The room was immaculate and very cozy. Breakfast was delicious, with something different each day, always accompanied with juice, fruit dish, coffee cake, and main course. If you have special dietary needs, they will make something for you other than what's on the menu for the day. They also have a huge library of books, VCR tapes and DVD's you can use, if there's nothing on TV to your liking. The mountain and pastoral views from each room also add to the ambience. Just can't say enough about Berry Springs Lodge. There's nothing we would change about our stay.

“Our Favorite Place to Escape To”
April 11, 2012 Cincinnati, Ohio
We have stayed at Berry Springs for the past 3 years. This place is great. The rooms are immaculate. The lodge is located within minutes of the main strip of Pigeon Forge/Sevierville but is far enough out to provide a very quiet and relaxed retreat. I woke up early last time we were there, walked out on the deck and listened to a wild turkey right across the valley gobbling as he came down from his roost and 2 hours later stood in the middle of Gatlinburg listening to the spring break shopping crowds. Patrick and Sue are the best hosts. Its the perfect place for whatever you want whether it is sitting quietly reading in the central area or sitting on the decks looking at the unbelievable views or catching very hungry fish in a couple of well-stocked ponds. Breakfast doesnt come any better. The desserts waiting every evening are irresistable. Cant wait to go back.
Room Tip: Every room is great. The hot tub rooms have the best view.

“A Peaceful Retreat”
May 13, 2011 murfreesboro, tn

The moment we entered Berry Springs Lodge, we knew we had found a special place. The lodge is beautifully decorated, warm and inviting. After a tour of the lodge, Tracy showed us to the Holly Springs room. Our room was perfect in every way, from the relaxing music playing on the radio, to the chocolates on our pillow. Patrick and Sue really thought of everything to make our stay memorable. Our large private balcony overlooked lush rolling hills. There is also a hot tub on the balcony. Could this get any better?

Breakfast is served! We enjoyed a delicious three course breakfast with coffee and juice. We especially enjoyed the strawberry banana pancakes with bacon. Everything was so tasty and beautifully presented. We also looked forward to the evening desserts.

We absolutely loved Berry Springs Lodge. Our thanks to Patrick, Sue, Tracy and Melissa for a wonderful, relaxing stay. We can't wait to come back!

“BERRY SPRINGS LODGE, OUR HOME AWAY FROM HOME”
 December 1, 2010 Newport, Kentucky

The B & B is out away from the towns but not so far as a short drive away. Sitting on a hilltop it has a great view out it's rear covered porch just outside the informal dining room where we enjoyed three wonderful breakfasts served by the Inn's owner. In the evening we sat by the wood burning fireplace reading and enjoying the evening deserts prepared each day and set out for the guests to munch on at will. At our disposal was a library with several hundred books and over a thousand DVD's to choose from if we wanted to relax back in our suite. One thing we liked about the Lodge was it was very informal, we had the run of the area at our leisure and didn't have to adhere to any schedule except the 8 to 9:30 Breakfast seating. Although the desserts were sat out each evening, you almost felt like a kid again sneaking into the kitchen for that midnight slice of pie or cake or home made chocolate chip cookies..

The Lodge consists of a main lodge with the library, gym, main hall, dining area, front and rear covered porches, and 9 guest rooms. We stayed in a detached cabin with two additional, two room suites. When we go again, we will probably try one of the rooms in the main lodge.

In addition to the lodging, the site has several acres with a hiking trail down to two twin small fishing lakes. One stocked with catfish and one with bass. Strolling along the creek from the lakes you come to a large fire pit, then pass a meadow with horse shoe pit and volley ball nets. You then come to and old barn that houses a pool table, ping pong table, basketball goal and several other outdoor type games. In the barn are a few mountain bikes you can ride around the flats or if adventurous take up the short trail cut into the hillsides. You just have to sign a waiver for the bikes. Also hanging in the barn are the fishing tackle and bait if you want to try the fishing lakes. All of the outdoor area game equipment, bikes, fishing lakes and gear are included in the lodging price to use at your leisure. You can order a picnic lunch the day before if you want to spend the day outdoors.

One of the features I thought unique is that the lodge was only 10 years old, very clean, very well constructed, and very well kept. The owners, of whom were very friendly and available built the lodge and grounds themselves. Being from the construction background, I enjoyed looking though the scrapbooks with the photos of the owners and the structure proceeding through the various building stages. Sitting and talking with the owners, we learned of their efforts of literally building their dream into reality.

The Wife and I have been to several B & B's now and each has it's own personality. Some are old and creaky and bear the odors of time, some were plush and formal, some were new and contemporary. If you are looking for clean, warm, modern but country cozy, casual laid back, secluded but not too far away. This is the place. We look forward to a return visit in the not too distant future.

“Idylic location & superb accommodation”
October 29, 2009

This was a gem of a place to come and totally relax or be active. The owners are very welcoming as soon as you step into the large sitting room with many very comfortable seating. The log fire was lit and gave the room that instant warm and cosiness. Our room was spacious, clean and very relaxing with two easy chairs to sit and drink the warm spiced cider freely available. The TV in the room was switched to a music channel with relaxing music playing.

The views of the Smokies from the rockers on the two huge porches are breathtaking and for those that like watching the antics of the local birds you can sit there relaxing and watch them flying to and from the numerous birdfeeders.

The owners have certainly thought of everything to make your stay a memorable and comfortable one. The vast library of books and DVDs were at your disposal as was the small fitness room. Also at the nearby fishing pool there were rods & bait, cycles, canoes, table tennis and croquet.

Apart from going out to have lunches and dinner one could quite easily stay and be entertained. In addition to a TV in each bedroom there was a large screen set in the sitting room. In the dining room there were cards, scrabble games plus more to entertain yourselves with. All day long in the dining room there are drinks and snacks freely available.

Berry spring is without doubt a fabulous place to come and chill out or if you wish to explore the trails and the surrounding area. It combines the very best of B&B Inns with the freedom of having your own cabin. We highly recommend this warm and friendly hideaway in the mountains.

"Great B&B in the Hills Near Pigeon Forge!"
Oct 26, 2008  Baton Rouge LA

Wow!! Away from the glitz and traffic of Pigeon Forge is this gem in the hills that is just amazing! With its cozy country feel, Sue and Patrick have thought of everything to make your stay perfect, and then some. Our room was bright and beautifully appointed, with beds turned down at night , chocolates on our pillows and soft music playing to greet us after a day of seeing the sights. Each evening in the dining area there was also a delicious homemade dessert and a refrigerator stocked with refreshments and ice-cream. The fireplace was glowing in the living room and the library was stocked with books and dvds to meet anyone's tastes. Breakfast was a fantastic 3 course delight and accommodation was made to meet various dietary needs. I have not mentioned the view but it was awesome!! The first night we just sat on our deck sipped wine and watched the sun set over the hills-heaven!!!! We have traveled far and wide and have to say that Berry Springs is tied for the top spot with two other B&B's(one in Scotland and one in PA). We plan to spread the word among friends and will definitely will be back!
"The Best of the Best-Stay at Berry Springs"
Oct 14, 2007  Carmichaels

Berry Springs is a MUST place to stay while visiting Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg Area. Stay out of the downtown honky tonk area and enjoy your visit at this Beautiful B&B on top of a mountain with wonderful views of the valley below. We stayed there Oct. 9 & 10 and thought it was PURR-FECT....You are 1.5 miles from Dollywood. Using the back roads you don't even have to get in the traffic of Pigeon Forge. They have it all.....Beautiful rooms with balconies, lovely living room and dining room, library filled with videos, DVD's, books & games, fitness room, grill area if you choose to make your own dinner ( They provide steak, chicken or salmon along with all the fixings for a cost), their own stocked pond, pool table and ping pong table in the pavilion by the pond. The breakfast I would compare to The Grand Hotel on Mackinaw Island Michigan. They have a three course breakfast that varies daily....like fresh muffins, hot pears with granola in sauce and a large omelets with toast...YUMMY....They will make you a picnic lunch ( at a cost) and there are ALWAYS complementary 24/7snacks....popcorn, cookies, candy, pretzels, ice cream, bottled water, soda pop, coffee, cider, hot chocolate and many teas. At 7:30 they also put out a special evening dessert. We have stayed all over the US, Ireland, England and France and Berry Springs ranks right up there at the top as one of the BEST B&B's we have ever stayed at. I always read reviews and here is what you want to know about Berry Springs...Beautiful, Well Worth the evening rate, Good Location, CLEANEST place we have ever stayed in, Great Host Patrick & Sue. STAY THERE and ENJOY..WE DID!!!
"You must go!"
Sep 26, 2006, IL

I have visited many B&B's and its not often that I find one that I would go back to again. There are so many out there and while a lot of them are good they don't usually rate a return visit. This one does! Everything about it was excellent. Start with the views! Talk about awesome! You couldn't decide between sitting out front or out back. Our room was large and Patrick and Sue have thought of everything that you could possibly need. Breakfast-well you won't have to eat again till dinner. Sue is a heck of a great cook. They offered a dinner that you can cook yourself out in the covered gazebo-that was a lot of fun. I get tired of having to go out to dinner every night and this was the perfect solution. They again provide everything you need to have a great dinner. Make sure you hike down to the ponds. This is a place you truly do not want to leave. There's also evening deserts which we never missed! Patrick and Sue are very gracious hosts and they have built a wonderful home. Make sure you check out the photo album that shows the building of the inn. You will be amazed! I know The Berry Springs Lodge is a place I will return to.

“Last Minute Jackpot ! Perfect 1st Anniversary”
July 22, 2005

My husband and I found this wonderful B&B last minute on the Internet for a 3 night anniversary trip. I was anxious to see Gatlinburg (my husband was not) so Berry Springs was the perfect location to get the best of the Smoky Mountains, yet close enough for a short Gatlinburg tour. We actually could have never left the property and been more than content. WE LOVED THIS PLACE !

We stayed in the separate Chalet on the bottom floor. The room was a dream. We had a bedroom w/full bath, separate living area with fireplace and romantic jacuzzi tub area. The innkeepers have provided everything you could possibly think of for your comfort. The decor, attention to detail and cleanliness was amazing. There's a bench swing on the very private porch with a breathtaking view.

The property is quite large and just a short trail walk down the hill from our room was two stocked ponds, campfire pit, a pavillion with poles, bait, bicycles, basketball, pool table. We met another couple celebrating their anniversary and had a blast fishing and riding bikes. I had never fished before and caught 5 huge catfish. We enjoyed the campfire one night and were provided refreshments and all the fixings to make S'mores.

The food at this B&B was delicious! Sue is an amazing cook. The breakfasts were out of this world and the service equal. Fresh, home-made desserts were placed out each evening and coffee, snacks and non-alcoholic drinks were always available in the beautiful kitchen/dining room. We made dinner reservations one night at the screened pavillion next to the lodge. Patrick and his son grilled and served us (and one other couple) a fabulous meal. We brought our own bottle of wine and enjoyed our first glass on the lodge deck before dinner. The view and atmosphere is so relaxing and romantic!

We have decided to spend our wedding anniversary every year at Berry Springs. We feel so fortunate to have found such a perfect get-away.

“A little piece of heaven”
September 5, 2004

We have been to several bed and breakfast inns, but none are as beautiful as this one. In addition, the hosts, Patrick and Sue ensure that your every need is attended to. The property is beautiful, food boutiful and tasty, and you feel like you are in a home away from home and don't have any of the chores! The little extras like having access to snacks and the homemade desserts nightly are just the cherry on top! The views are breathtaking. There are paths and ponds and little extras at every turn. They even have fishing poles for those who wish to fish from the pond! We look forward to staying here often and would highly recommend this property to anyone looking to stay in this area.
